Earlier in the tournament, Delhi Daredevilswon both its previous encounter with ease. In the first match, it was Gautam Gambhir and in the 2nd it was Najafgarh's nawab Virender Sehwag who stole the show. Gautam Gambhir played the anchor role against Kings XI Punjab and Sehwag with his exposive batting against Rajasthan Royals, took the game away from Warne's team. Mumbai Indians would be wary of the devasting duo of Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambir. Delhi Daredevils even has Dilshan who can single handedly turn things around, when in form.
On the other hand, although Mumbai Indians won their opening match against Rajasthan Royals, it wasn't that convincing. Yusuf Pathan almost snatched the game away and scored the fastest hundred of the IPL in just 37 balls. However, in the end it was Mumbai Indians who won the match by just 4 runs.
