United suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Chelsea last weekend to surrender their place at the top of the table to their title rivals. Goals from Joe Cole and Didier Drogba had given Chelsea a 2-0 lead late in the game and though Federico Macheda managed to reduce the deficit, United were unable to find the equalizer in the final nine minutes.

The result sees United slip two points behind Chelsea in the race for the league title and with just five games remaining in the season, manager Alex Ferguson will be aware that his side could still lose the title even if they manage to win their remaining five games.
Blackburn Rovers on the other hand will be looking to maintain their recent good form that has seen the club collect eight points from their last four games and put them in contention to finish the season inside the top half of the table.

Lars Jacobsen is the only major injury concern for Blackburn with Yildiray Basturk, Ryan Nelsen and Keith Andrews expected to recover from their injuries. United could be boosted by the return of Wayne Rooney with the England international making a faster than expected recovery.
